My Hometown

I was born in a remote farm which bordered the Soviet Union. It's such a small place that I can not find it in a map. My father was a veterinarian and my mother was a school teacher. We moved to the city when I was 5, so I have few memories of my hometown. But I will never forget the apply orchard and the vegetable fields, which left me the happiest memories of my childhood. The apply orchard was a paradise for kids. We spent whole days there, playing hide-and-seek and other games. In the harvest season, eating apples in the orchard was free. But we often managed to take apples away without paying, just because the keepers turned a blind eye. At that time China was very poor and we led a poor life. Kids did not have televisions, toys and even candy. We grew up with trees and flowers. But I think we are lucky compared with the modern generations as we used to be so close to the nature.
